Many years ago, elders from other times planted the seeds of knowledge of this art in the northern regions of Serra da Estrela, high up in the mountains. There, from generation to generation, they learned to work with wool, to shape it, to make it soft and well-cooked, and thus, durable. Feet stayed warm, backs cozy, and heads more relaxed with this warm material. The products that can be made from burel are varied, but it is a technique that is costly in terms of labor hours and materials. But that doesn't make it any less accessible. In the past, burel was for those who could afford it; today in our store, we present more affordable prices with the same quality.
