That's right! We are environmentally friendly here at Produtos Portugueses! One can imagine that it might be less product, harder to maintain or store, that it might even be more expensive than the usual supermarket shampoos that we are so used to.
That's right, the issue is really that, we are creatures of habit. If we get used to something, even if the other is better, we go around in circles until we decide to convert to another habit... We conduct scientific investigations and visualize all the alternatives and then when we finally decide to buy, we face the use and the feedback. It seems like time stops or moves slower, like in the movies, when our eyes widen and bulge at the moment just before feeling the product on our skin or hair for the first time. And it may or may not confirm what they sell us as an idea.
Well, let me just ask you to do an exercise: Before plastic packaging, how did shampoo and soap come? Wrapped in paper.
And how long did they last? It depended on the amount, but a blue and white bar of soap was enough for many, many, many loads of laundry.
So what about your shampoo? How long does it last you?
In my case, I used to buy a type of fancy shampoo for my hair, it lasted me a month and a half and the conditioner two months, I paid around 8 to 9 euros for each package, sometimes more. I tried it out, now I buy every 3 months, it lasts me longer, it's cheaper, smells better, and my hair looks natural.
And I bought a wooden holder to keep the shampoo and conditioner well organized. This way they don't roll around the bathtub, they stay in good condition.
But what really makes me happy in the midst of this is not polluting the water with the chemicals from other shampoos, and the packaging not ending up in the oceans or other landfills.
Make good choices.
